About Us

The Jubilee Swimming Club was
founded 30 years ago as a result of parents and medical staff identifying the need
for an activity in the Worcestershire area that could be enjoyed by people of
all ages who had a disability. The
disability may have been from before birth or acquired after birth such as ABI
from illness or injury. The club now also opens its doors to people who need
short term re-habilitation, following an illness or injury.
The club is run solely by a group
of volunteer committee members and is supported by Stourport Sports Centre (D C
Leisure).
The club needs £3,000 per year to run
and most of this (approx £2,800) is taken up by pool fees. The remainder is used for
insurance, pool toys, floats and admin/stationery.
We are this year trying to raise
enough money to carry us through 4 years, so we can Ôstay afloatÕ. We currently run from year to year.
We are
developing further and have recently become a registered charity. This gives us the opportunity to
hopefully offer a wider range of social activities for our club members.
These activities will range from
social evenings such as skittle nights up to days out.
